Changing the Default Editor in IE 4

The default editor can be changed in IE4 in the file types area by taking the following steps:

  1. Go to view – folder properties – file types tab.
  2. Find Internet Document (HTML) and choose edit.
  3. Select the "Edit" action.
  4. Modify the path in the area "Application used to perform action."

What Can You Do in FrontPage Express?

Here are some of the key features of FrontPage Express:

Create pages You can create new HTML pages based on built-in wizards and templates. FrontPage Express offers many choices of page formats, or you can create your own templates.
Open HTML files You can open any HTML file in FrontPage Express. All the HTML tags on the page are preserved.
Type and edit text You can insert text in all HTML styles, create multilevel lists, change text size and color, and apply formatting such as centering a heading or italicizing text.
Create and test hyperlinks Using a point-and-click interface, you can create hyperlinks to pages and files open in FrontPage Express or to pages and files on the web.
Create and edit forms You can create forms containing text fields, check boxes, radio buttons, drop-down lists, and push buttons. To process a form, you can assign a built-in FrontPage WebBot component or add your own CGI script.
Create and edit tables You can create a table, add captions, create header cells, and merge and split cells. FrontPage Express displays the table in the way it will appear on the web.
Use WebBot components You can add powerful functionality to your page by inserting WebBot components. They add features such as full-text searches and date & time stamping.
Add advanced features You can insert Microsoft ActiveX® Controls, plug-ins, and Java applets in FrontPage Express. You can launch a script-editing session and create and insert JavaScript scripts and Microsoft Visual Basic® Scripting Edition scripts.

What You Can Not Do in FrontPage Express

Here are some of the key things that you cannot do in FrontPage Express:

Paste or Drag & Drop Content From Office 97 Files While you can do this in FrontPage 97, you cannot do this in FrontPage Express. The text does come in, but with a lot of code as well.
Insert Office 97 Files While you can do this in FrontPage 97, you cannot do this in FrontPage Express. The text does come in, but with a lot of code as well.
Preview in Browser FrontPage 97 has a Preview in Browser feature but FrontPage Express does not.
Other Features FrontPage Express also has no support for style sheets, Dynamic HTML, and push channels.
Frames FrontPage Express has no support for frames.
