We even have a local section in Neuburg. The women (I believe it's almost only women) are very talented in their needleworks. The little things they produce are sold various times during the year on behalf of Unicef. E.G. The young Union Jungen Union Neuburg does so on the Christmas market. I might write soon a homepage for the Neuburg section of Unicef.
WWF Deutschland oder auch World Wildlife Fund for Nature (international)
As far as I know there is no WWF-section in Neuburg. If people are interested in founding one, please contact me. Reinhard Köhler.
member since 1991. The NStG is an association of alumnis of the Descartes-Gymnasiums Neuburg as well as people feeling close to that school. Once in a while I publish an article in the NStG's announcements. One of my proximate goals is the publication of a NStG-page.

This is the German branch of this worldwide organization promoting student exchange. I've been with YfU since my return from the U.S.A. in 1989. A member like almost all who spent a year abroad with this non-profit organization. YfU is living of the fact that everything in the student exchange but organizational matters is done voluntarily (but very professionally) by its members. This includes PR, the selection process, preparation for the students to go, taking care during the exchange, a re-entry orientation back into the "home atmosphere". All this is done for students to go abroad. Usually they go for one entire school year. Most German students go to the U.S. but there are also tons of other possibilities to take advantage of such a great year. What about spending it in Asia/Oceania (New Zealand, Australia, Japan), Europe (e.g. Scottland, France, Denmark, Norway), Eastern Europe (e.g. Poland, Czech Republic)?
Of course the other way round is possible as well: You certainly can take a foreign exchange student into your family but you don't have the obligation to take one if your own child is going abroad.
Additionally there is the possibility for German host families to take part in a special program. 6-week summer exchange with U.S. high school students. This would take place in July/August of each year.

Founding member that means since February 1996. The citizen's net association wants to promote the Internet within the county and fill it up with locla contents. Furthermore access should be provided at the mere phone costs at local distance. As I indicated I try to do my share by writing the homepages of some institutions in Neuburg. Only if the system is overwhelming with local information this new media is widely accepted (including the internet access). That is why I am part of the working group contents. Besides I'm the auditor of the treasury.
